1-Determine Your Priorities
I know, you have plenty of things to take care of in your life like career, finance, family, personal growth, and more. You want to set your goals for each one of them. You want to work on those goals, and in the end, you want to succeed.
The truth is you can’t run to all of your targets at the same time. You have to determine your priorities according to your feeling of satisfaction. Think about it. Which part of your life you would like to have more success at?
Is it your career, or family relationships? Maybe feel more satisfied when you have a smooth social life or better financial status? No matter what it is, determining your priorities is a must to start setting your goals.
2-Determine The Type Of Your Goals
After you determine your priorities, it is time to specify the type of your goals. We can divide the goal types into 3: Daily, short-term, and long-term. To be more clear, these goal types define how far in the future you want to achieve them.
You can put your short routines to daily goals. For example, you may want to meditate for 20 minutes every morning. Another example, you may want to read a book for 10 minutes before you sleep. I guess you got the idea.
Short-term goals are for the things that you want to accomplish in the near future. For example, you may want to learn how to write a blog article in one month. Or, you may want to reduce the time that you are spending on social media.
Long-term goals are a bit more complicated than the last two. Because usually they don’t have any time frame. For example, you may want to travel the whole world, but you can’t specify the time range for that. Or, you may want to be a CEO one day but neither you guarantee that nor determine the time frame.
By specifying your goals, you’ll be able to see the way that is going to succeed clearly. After that you can step forward to the third step of setting goals.
It is not easy to motivate yourself to work on your goals. Because motivation requires commitment. To dedicate yourself to something, you need to convince yourself that you should work on this goal. Therefore, you need to ask yourself the question of why, and answer it.
Let’s say you want to lose 5 pounds in two months. Why did you set that goal? Why do you want to accomplish this? Will reaching this goal make you happy? You should see if the answers are enough for you to dedicate yourself to that goal or not.

Second, what kind of tools can you use? Technology became our best helpmate in life for several things. Of course, it has something to say about reaching your goals as well. You can find numerous goal tracker apps in the App Store or Google Play store. Also, if you have a team, using tools like Monday and Slack can help you plan.
Third, What kind of rules can you determine? I have one rule that I am following to be able to reach my goals, hard-working. I suggest you do the same. Because, as I said, working on goals requires commitment. And, If you commit yourself to something, you know that no gain without pain.
5-Let Someone Know
Feeling some pressure is good when it comes to working on something. I am not talking about the horrible pressure like the one we might face at the workplace. But, telling someone you know about your goal seems to increase the likelihood that you will stick at them.
So, think about someone that you can share what you will start to work on and what is your target at the end. But, you should choose wisely. Tell someone who can support you while you are feeling under pressure.
This person could be your partner or one of your family members, or your best friend. The bottom line is you should choose someone that you feel comfortable with.
6-Start Working On Your Goals
Congratulations, you reached the last step! Everything is ready and you can start to work on your goals. Don’t forget, setting your goals is the first thing on your to-do list. There is a lot to do to reach the result.
Working towards your goals can sometimes be difficult, and even frustrating. You should always find something that will make you move on.
